My Journey
Meet Tara
Yoga Teacher, Thai Bodyworker, Sauna Ritualist, Gardener, Grower and Nature Lover
Narāyani — strength, compassion and loving presence

I’m Tara, a yoga teacher and Traditional Thai bodyworker based in Norwich.
My work is rooted in movement, breath, touch and the natural rhythms that have guided me through the most challenging chapters of my life. I teach and offer bodywork because these practices supported me when I needed grounding, compassion and strength — and I love sharing that same steadying presence with others.
Yoga, mobility and functional movement have been part of my life for more than sixteen years. They became especially important during periods of injury recovery and throughout a long season of caring for my family through illness, Alzheimer’s and mental health struggles. Movement gave me structure when everything felt uncertain; breath gave me space when emotions felt heavy; stillness helped me listen inwardly when I couldn’t find the words.
These experiences shaped who I am as a teacher: grounded, nurturing, intuitive and deeply compassionate.
My Teaching Path
I began practising yoga at home, self-taught from books before joining classes at a local Buddhist centre. The structure and alignment of Iyengar-style yoga gave me exactly what I needed at the time — clarity, discipline and a place to land.
Over the years, my curiosity grew. I trained with Swami Atma Gyanam Saraswati, completing my 200hr Yoga Alliance training, followed by a year-long mentorship in Kriya and Chakra yoga. This period of self-study grounded me deeply and shaped the way I hold space.
As I navigated knee surgeries and ongoing recovery, I wanted to understand the body on a functional level. This led me to Yoga Detour, movement mapping, spinal awareness and breathwork training. These studies allow me to teach in a way that honours individual bodies, encourages safe movement and bridges traditional yoga with modern movement science.
My spiritual name, Narayani, reflects qualities dear to me — strength, compassion and loving presence.

Thai Bodywork & Healing Touch
Touch became a significant part of my work after realising how deeply people were craving connection, grounding and release — especially through periods of loneliness and emotional overwhelm.
I trained in Traditional Thai Massage with Natasha de Grunwald and continued further anatomical and therapeutic study with Drew Hume of Navina Thai. Thai bodywork allowed me to combine movement, breath, rhythm and intuitive touch in a way that is deeply supportive for the nervous system.
Each session is bespoke, shaped by how you feel on the day.
No two bodies are the same, and no two days are either.
Sauna Rituals & Nature-Led Practice
Nature is my constant teacher. I garden, grow food, swim in the sea and love being outdoors. Working with heat and sauna rituals feels like an extension of my connection with the elements — warmth, breath, water, scent, rhythm.
For the last three years I’ve hosted rituals and ceremonies with local saunas in Norwich, blending Lithuanian-inspired pirtis tradition with a gentle, intuitive approach. Sauna work weaves together heat, steam, vanta branches, botanicals and mindful rest, offering a space to soften, reset and return to yourself.
